Position: Temporary Staff Accountant
Location: Washington, DC Metro (DMV) - Hybrid (3 days in office minimum)
Pay: Starting at $32 per hour

Duration: 3 months

Right now, we're hiring for a Temporary Staff Accountant to support a growing organization. In this role, you'll serve as the right hand to the Assistant Controller and play a key role in day-to-day accounting functions.

Some of what you will do:

• Perform moderately complex accounting tasks related to AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger
• Manage capital projects and fixed assets accounting
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Complete and review balance sheet account reconciliations
• Provide backup support for AR and AP functions
• Assist with financial reporting and ensure compliance with GAAP

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Solid understanding of GAAP
• Ability to adapt in changing environments and work independently
• A problem-solving mindset and a team-first attitude
